Napa County Awards $5.57 Million Deer Park Road Paving Contract for 2026

DEER PARK, Napa County — The county’s 2026 road improvement program includes a major paving project serving Deer Park and the surrounding hillside road network.

Contract awarded in May

The Napa County Board of Supervisors awarded the Deer Park Region Paving Project (RDS 25-02) to Argonaut Constructors of Santa Rosa on May 19, 2026, for a low bid of $5,573,644. The county’s project webpage identifies it as in construction and sets out the overall scope.

The affected roads include Deer Park Road, White Cottage Road and College Avenue, with Glass Mountain Crossroad and potentially Sanitarium Road also referenced in the solicitation depending on funding and the final project scope. Work includes grinding old asphalt, applying new pavement, repairing failed sections, cleaning or replacing drainage culverts and restoring striping and road signs.

How much road is affected?

The state environmental notice describes rehabilitation of about 8.63 miles across Deer Park Road, White Cottage Road and College Avenue. The separate procurement notice includes possible additional road segments. The county’s actual construction phasing may not match a preliminary planning description exactly.

What motorists should expect

Residents and hospital visitors may encounter construction equipment, temporary flaggers or slower travel. The public contract record does not establish that a particular lane is blocked on October 31, so drivers should follow current road signs and county notifications.
